Should I sell gold and buy a ticket to Africa
I am a thirty year old guy. A couple of months ago, I got to know an interesting woman. She"s thirty, too, and she"s an athlete. We met on an internet forum for athletes. I"m a short distance runner and she does a bit of long-distance running and cycling. We started communicating through an online messenger and it turned out we"ve become really interested in each other. The problem is, she lives in Nairobi, Kenya. To meet her, I would have to sell gold jewellery that I inherited from my grandparents. Of curse it"s a bit risky. I"ve been planning to pay for a course of French and my driving licence training, which I really need to get a better job. The plane ticket costs more or less the same. What if I visit her and it turns out the reality is not that perfect? What if we don"t like each other that much? She might visit me, that"s true. But she comes from poor family. She finds it difficult to make ends meet and needs sponsors to take part in sports competitions. I"ve been looking at the gold jewellery today. It"s really beautiful. I"ve been keeping it at home for years, and I know I will sell gold only when I really need it. It must be something really important. Well, I guess I"ve just found a reason. If I don´t visit her, we can never be able to learn if we are supposed to be together.
